On warm fuzzies

When you have the impulse to tells someone something complimentary, or that you appreciate something about them, don't hesitate or procrastinate the impulse away. It's never a bad idea to make someone feel good about themselves, and it's not flattery if you're sincere. Do it as soon as it occurs to you, before insecurity or indolence sap your motivation.

Don't hire a caterer -- especially for your wedding reception -- off the Internet. Demand references and a tasting at the very least.

On yoga instructors

Yoga feels wonderful, and the principles describe a mostly delightful philosophy, but when yogis start talking about anything other than how to execute a pose, stop listening.  (Yes, I know I can kiss that Yoga Journal editorship goodbye.)
