More on Sept. Knitbloggers' picnic

I just looked into reserving a picnic area in the East Bay Regional Parks, and found out that it's not free to make a reservation. I'm happy to front the money or show up early to stake out a spot for free, but I'm not going to do so unless people are actually interested in showing up. So talk to me, my 10 subscribers. September 18? September 25? The 12th of Never?

Oh! I have a choice? Sept 25, please. I'm performing on Sept. 18, so it would be hard to do a picnic. But Sept 25 i think I can do.

I think its a great idea! But, unfortunately, between Prince Eats A Lotta's baseball tournaments and trying to get the store open, I think that a trip to the east bay for a picnic is not going to happen for me in September.

You are going to killllll me, but my brother is in town that Sunday and we are heading to Sacramento to the nature preserve. He's the photographer for the Nature Conservancy, so it's a job call.
Don't you just hate herding cats?

Beedle deedle dee... four kitties. Beedle deedle dee, four kitties ... now they out-num-ber dogs! (Sung to the tune of Two Ladies from Cabaret, if it hasn't already wormed its way into your head.) Four feral cats, including one kitten that looks to be about four months old now, have been visiting our backyard. They have similar markings, so I thought there were just three until one Friday morning when they all showed up at once. It was a party. I've been feeding them, though not every day, and they come to drink water from the birdbath. I think it's their only source of fresh water. Our dogs don't work very hard at keeping them out of the yard--I think they make a big show of running after the cats only when we prompt them to. (Tina knows the word Cat! like she knows the word Squirrel! and it gets the same response--whining...
