Hah. They went too far.

It's just been reported that the Louisiana constitutional amendment banning same-sex marriage has been struck down--because it sought to ban not only gay marriage, but also domestic partnerships. I guess we'll see whether the religious right has the zeal to pursue both bans separately, and whether the electorate and legislature will be forthright about their desire to discriminate.
